Renew Items

Renewing allows you to extend the Due Date on an item you have already checked out. Please note - depending on library policies you may not be able to renew some items.

To renew a library item:
1. Login to your user account.
2. Click the Checked Out link. The catalog displays a list of items you currently have checked out.
3. To renew all the items in the list, mark the box to the left of the Title column. OR Mark the box next to the item(s) you want to renew.
4. Click Renew. The catalog renews the item and then displays a new due date for the item in the Due Date column.
5. When you are finished, log out of your user account.

Request Items

After performing a search, you may want to request an item. Use the following method to request a book that is currently checked-out or to request an item be sent from another NIOGA library.

To request a library item:
1. Perform your search.
2. Within the item's record click on "Request Item".
3. Enter your library card barcode number to login.
4. Be sure to use the drop-down list to select the library where you would like to pick up the item.
5. Click on "Request"
6. Remember: Not all materials can be requested due to material type or "New" status.
7. If the computer will not allow you to request an item please inquire at the Circulation Desk of your library.

How to Search the Journal Databases
NIOGA provides access to full-text articles from journals, newspapers, periodicals, encyclopedias, reviews, magazines and more. All databases may be accessed from the library and most are available from home. From home you will be prompted to enter your library card barcode number at the "Remote Patron Authentication" page.
