Hands on fun at the Lewiston Public Library! Science, technology, engineering and math activities will be available at the library during Spring break for ages 3 and up. Register in person or via email or telephone. For questions please contact the children’s room staff.
Monday, March 30th at 3:00, join us at the library for a time of Science fun! Make a molecule, discover what sinks and what floats, play with light and sound and much more! Science fun for everyone! Children must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver. Young children may need assistance but are welcome to enjoy the various activities.
Tuesday, March 31st at 3:00, join us for a time of Technology fun! Bring your own device to explore education websites, visit Tinkercad, go on an internet treasure hunt, and explore educational apps. Use our AWE computers and tablets to play educational games in a variety of subject areas.
Wednesday, April 1st at 3:00, build a bridge with gumdrops and toothpicks. Whose will be the strongest? Create a Lego vehicle by following step by step directions or create your own design. Make a catapult out of craft sticks and see how far you can launch a cotton ball. Each activity designed to introduce children to the world of Engineering.
Thursday, April 2nd at 3:00, count the cups, create a graph using Skittles, participate in ice cream addition, and sort the objects are all designed to show children that Math can be a lot of fun! Activities are for a variety of ages. Younger children are welcome with parental supervision.
